Σώματος ἐν καμάτοις μογεροῖς ψυχῆς τε πόνοισιν
Ἄχρι τανηλεγέος θανάτου Τυχικός ποτε κάμνων
Εὐξάμενος Λήνῳ προφυ[γ]εῖν χαλέπ’ ἄλγεα νούσων
Ἄρηϊ κρατερῷ δῶρον τόδε θῆκε σαωθείς.

[C]orporis adque animi dirós sufferre labóres
Dum nequeo, mortis prope limina saepe vagando,
Servátus Tychicus divino Martis amore
Hoc múnus parvom pr[o] magna dedico cúra.

Translation

In the grievous toil and throes of body and mind,
at Death’s painful point of no return, did Tychikos once suffer.
He prayed to Lēnos to escape the unbearable anguish of disease.
Thus to Mighty Arēs (this) offering he gave (for being) rescued.

While unable to endure the baleful affliction of body and soul,
oft drifting on Death’s doorstep,
Tychicus was saved out of the Divine Love of Mars,
for which I dedicate this trifling gift with great care.
